Architect's house

It is located in a singular place in the garden of a building block in the downtown of Zagreb, in a place where there once was a service building. This extremely long and narrow lot (the width of the house is 5.5 meters) and the possibilities in providing natural lightening conditioned the final plan. The plan is rationalized and the staircase establishes both vertical and horizontal communication. The spatial arrangement could be described as in search of the sun

Daily spaces are laid down on the ground floor in a long, narrow volume, like a wagon, while the other contents are organized in a vertical sequence. The need to bring the natural light inside the house within very limiting conditions manifests itself in a glass roof and in different partitive constructions made out of glass brick.
