Pashmina Hotel is located in the popular French ski resort Val Thorens, in close proximity to the ski trail. The task was to design the interiors of the communal hotel spaces: a foyer with reception, living room, shop, spa zone and restaurant. The design concept revolves around duality between the eating and resting spaces, which were conceived as homely spaces clad with wooden panels, and the spa zone, which was conceived, in contrast, as an “ice world”.
The living room was imagined as a shelter, a warm cave clothed in wood within a triangular geometry with a fireplace in the middle. A similar ceiling geometry is replicated in the restaurant, as a soft covering made out of plaster and cardboard. The furnishing was inspired by the name of the hotel, as well as the sculptural installation of the Pashmina goat at the entrance hall.
